Core Engineering Programs Ranked by U.S. News

UNLV's Howard R. Hughes College of Engineering received word late last week that for the first time key core programs have been nationally ranked by U.S. News in their "Best Engineering Schools" listing.

  • The Civil & Environmental Engineering Department is ranked 102.
  • Electrical & Computer Engineering is ranked 135.
  • Mechanical Engineering Department is ranked 111.

"The national ranking is a direct result of the expertise of our committed faculty, the hard work by our dedicated staff, and is testament to the quality of student we have in the college", said Dr. Rama Venkat, interim dean for the college.

The college of engineering program is home to 1800 plus undergraduate and graduate students. The college offers nine programs: Civil & Environmental Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering. Computer Science, AFROTC and ARMY ROTC, Construction Engineering & Management, Informatics, and Entertainment Engineering and Design.
