The Howard R. Hughes College of Engineering at UNLV has received official notification that their student chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) will host the "2009 National Steel Bridge Competition." The competition will be held May 21 thorugh May 23, 2009.
Under the direction of Dr. Nader Ghafoori, Dr. Aly Said, and Dr. Tom Piechota, Vik Sedhev has been selected as the student leader of the eight-member steering committee. UNLV was one of numerous sites in the running to be selected as the coveted host of the competition.
The competition is co-sponsored by the American Steel Institute of Steel Construction, Inc.
